Popular 2017 Chinese Gold and Silver Panda Coins Now Available to Order

Every year, the Chinese mint releases gold and silver coins featuring the iconic Giant Panda Bear. The Giant Panda Bear is native to south central China. The design of the Giant Panda Bear featured on the coins changes every year.

The Chinese Mint has revealed the 2017 version of its gold and silver panda coins. (pictured below). The 2017 version features a Giant Panda Bear clutching a bamboo stick. Bamboo is the staple diet of giant panda bears.

The gold and silver coins are denominated in grams rather than ounces, a change made with the introduction of the 2016 mintage. The 30 gram coin is roughly equivalent to a one troy ounce coin, but is slightly smaller as a one troy ounce coin weighs 31.1035 grams.

While Chinese silver and gold panda coins are bullion products, they are a favorite among collectors because the design changes each year and they have generally been produced in low mintages.
