Tower Bridge Silver Coins Now Available
British Royal Mint releases the 2018 Tower Bridge 1 oz Silver Bullion Coin from the “Landmarks of Britain” series.

The 2018 Tower Bridge coins commemorate the 125 year old bridge that spans the Thames River in London. Construction on the bascule and suspension bridge began in 1886 and was completed in 1894. Tower Bridge is one of London’s most popular tourist attractions as it provides stunning panoramic views from its upper level walk ways and a view below through a glass floor.
Tower Bridge has been confused with “London Bridge” a non descript bridge built in 1830 that also once traversed the Thames River and was sold in 1967 Robert P. McCulloch from the City of London, dismanted and moved to Arizona.
On the front: The obverse features the most recent portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, with the text “ELIZABETH II • D • G • REG • F • D • 2 POUNDS”. DG REG FD (“Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor”) meaning; “Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith”. “JC” appears below the Queen’s portrait signifying the artist’s name, Jody Clark.
On the back: A depiction of the iconic London Tower Bridge is featured across 2/3 of the coin. “TOWER BRIDGE”, is inscribed across the upper left of the coin “2018” inscribed at the top center and “1oz” “‘999’ FINE SILVER” circling clockwise towards the bottom right of the coin. The London Tower Bridge reverse was designed by Royal Mint coin designers Laura Clancy and Glyn Davies.
